SHAVING, GROOMING – TRIMMING AND STYLING FOR DOGS AT BTM PET SHOP BÌNH THẠNH

Why should you shave and groom your dog?

Every dog has its own distinctive coat, and coat type varies from breed to breed — there’s no single rule that applies to all dogs. That said, if your dog has fairly thick fur, it’s worth trimming, because on damp or rainy days the air stays humid and uncomfortable. When skin gets too damp, it can lead to fungus, parasites, or other skin conditions.

On days with high air humidity, a dog’s coat can’t dissipate heat quickly. This is especially difficult for dogs with thick fur. When that happens, a dog’s skin stays damp and can develop fungus if it isn’t dried regularly, and the coat itself doesn’t stay clean either. As a result, the risk of parasite-related conditions rises sharply.

Conditions like skin fungus, or the appearance of mites and lice, are entirely possible in these circumstances. That’s why shaving a dog during hot, humid seasons helps limit some of the health problems dogs face.
